EXAMS: Each online exam consists primarily of multiple-choice questions, listing questions, and short-answer questions. Unless otherwise specified, all exams will be available until 11:59 PM CST on the last day of availability. Do not wait until the last day to take an exam. Students are responsible for having access to a reliable computer and internet, not the instructor. If you have any technology issues, it is the student's responsibility to resolve them. You may not email the instructor for an extension. If you miss an exam, you are allowed the opportunity to take the comprehensive final to replace that exam grade. This is the option the student opts into if they miss a scheduled exam. The comprehensive final exam may only be used to replace one exam grade. If you miss more than one exam during the semester, you will have a zero recorded for at least one exam. All exams are proctored. Students may not use their phone, textbook, notes, or any other items during the exam. Violating these rules will result in an automatic zero.
All HECO 1322 exams are timed, and you will not be allowed to go back to any question once you've answered. Do not start an exam, then wait several minutes, hours, or days to attempt to complete. You will be locked out at the end of the allotted time even if you are not signed in to the exam after it has been opened. Once the set time has expired, the exam will automatically be submitted for grading.
When moving from question to question in an exam, click the arrow to the right to go to the next question after entering your answer. You do not need to hit "save answer" after each answer. This will take up much of your exam time. Selected answers are automatically saved when you go to the next question.
PLEASE NOTE: If you choose to take an exam on the weekend and/or late at night, there may not be I.T. available to assist you. Please follow technology policies as outlined in the "Welcome Folder" of this course. Please print these policies so you can access them in the event of a technology failure. Emailing your instructor will trigger an auto-reply that also includes these policies.
ASSIGNMENTS:
All discussion board assignments (with the exception of the student introductions discussion board) require an initial post with a minimum of 120 words and two meaningful replies to other students in the course. Students must submit an initial post to see other students' posts. Do not write in bullet points or in "question and answer" format. You are required to write in complete sentences and in paragraph format. Points are deducted for improper grammar, capitalization, and punctuation. Using AI and/or plagiarism will result in an automatic zero on discussion boards.
Quizzes are open-book and open-note. The intent of all quizzes is to familiarize you with potential exam questions and exam structure. Students are encouraged to take notes on quiz questions that they are unfamiliar with and study that topic before taking the exam.
You can find and download the PDF instructions for the Major Case Study assignment by clicking on the link in the Module 4 folder. Students may work with classmates to complete the Major Case Study. The Major Case Study is not timed, and students can leave the assignment and return to it as often as needed to complete it until the due date.
