2023-Current: Construction Project Manager, Lamar University
Oversee all aspects of construction projects, including establishment and tracking of baseline budgets and schedules, evaluation, and selection of design consultants and general contractors, assisting in the administration of contracts, ensuring contract compliance, coordinating all project team activities, and organizing and managing all project documentation. Assist in the preparation of Requests for Qualifications and Requests for Proposals as needed. Apply and ensure compliance with all departmental, university, and Texas State University System policies and procedures. Coordinate with local, state, and federal regulatory authorities as needed and ensure compliance with all applicable codes, rules, and regulations. Oversee and direct the progress of consultants, recommend alternatives, and facilitate timely decisions by stakeholders. Ensure design and construction documents comply with project requirements. Inspect all work in progress at assigned construction sites. Provide regular progress reports to the immediate supervisor and to university leadership as needed. Process and organize all project documents such as contracts, pay applications, and change orders. Oversee warranty period activities and communication with building users and contractors. Provide consistent, timely, and reliable communication between all team members, including stakeholders, design consultants, University staff, and contractors, to ensure that project goals and objectives are understood and achieved. Responsible for reviewing and processing requisitions for compliance with applicable policies, laws, and regulations. Review and approve state vouchers for correctness. Serve as the campus's historically underutilized business coordinator and attend HUB forums. Write specifications and issue bids as required by the Statewide Procurement Division. Ensure annual service contracts are in place for each fiscal year for the campus. Conduct purchasing seminars for potential vendors. Serve as the campus risk manager; maintain and manage programs/committees. Ensure compliance with Minors on Campus Training. Participate actively in the construction projects of the college. Responsible for completing the reporting that takes place on the Economic Development Administration Grants that the college has been a recipient of in the last two years.
