You must purchase the Electronics Kit. This kit includes all the supplies, tools and projects you will need for the class. The cost of the kit is $100.

There will be a check done of each Project Kit upon completion. Good soldering techniques and clean soldering are grading criteria along with kit being completed and working. The Final course grade will be the average of all your grades on the kits and the Final Kit checkout grade.

CELLPHONE POLICY - Please put cell phones out of sight and on MUTE during all class times. Using cell phones during class times is distracting to other students. If you must take a call or make a call, please go into the hallway to do so. If there are repeated violations, you will be dismissed from class that day and counted absent.

As class attendance is crucial to making a passing grade, after 5, 7 and 9 class periods have been missed, a letter grade will be dropped after each. Also, after 11 missed class days, a failure will be recorded for the overall grade. After the class period begins, you will be counted tardy unless there is a recognized excuse. Two tardies will count as one day absence. Class absences can also have recognized excuses, with each being handled on a one on one basis with the instructor.

Instrumentation Technology Students:

All Instrumentation Technology students must purchase a Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) from Lamar State College Port Arthur through the online link below. This kit includes a hard hat, safety goggles, gloves and two pair of ear plugs. You must purchase this kit even if you have your own hard hat, etc. The cost of the kit is $35.

Additionally, if you are enrolled in the Instrument Technology course, CETT 1321 Electronic Fabrication, you must purchase the Electronics Kit. The cost of the kit is $100. Please bring your, receipt with your FULL NAME and LSCPA EMAIL ADDRESS to Diana Crutchfield, UITC Room 201A to receive your kit.
