Additional Materials/Resources

There is a hard hat kit required to be purchased by all students (both PTAC and INST). Below is the link to purchase the PPE kit as well as the link for the Instrumentation students in CETT 1321 who need to purchase an electronics project kit. Please put this information on your course syllabi (all of them). They only need to purchase one kit.

Students may state they have a hard hat—they MUST use the hard hat purchased with the kit. They cannot use their own from other locations.

Learning Outcomes

1. Describe the basic functions of process equipment. (PSLO 1); measured by embedded test questions, class discussion, and demonstration on actual process equipment

2. Describe related scientific principles associated with process equipment. (PSLO 1); measured by embedded test questions, class discussion, and demonstration on actual process equipment

3. Identify process equipment components. (PSLO 2); measured by embedded test questions, class discussion, and demonstration on actual process equipment.

4. Demonstrate ability to use terminology to describe components of process equipment. (PSLO 2); measured by embedded test questions, class discussion, and demonstration on actual process equipment.

5. Demonstrate operation of basic equipment components used in the process industries. (PSLO 3); measured by embedded test questions, demonstration on actual process equipment

6. Demonstrate safety procedures used during cleaning out, isolation, and repair of process equipment. (PSLO 4); measured by embedded test questions, demonstration on actual process equipment.

7. Describe the roles, responsibilities, safety, environmental, and quality concepts associated with the work environment of a process technician; and identify basic processes, equipment, and systems.

Course Attendance score will count as an Exam. 4 unexcused absences results in a drop of a letter grade.  11 unexcused absences results in course failure.
